This site is completely written by hand using Vim. The former Scuderia Twente site made extensive use of tables for the layout of the site. This new site makes use of Cascaded Style Sheets, making it much more easy to change page layout. The starting point for the new site was to make it all W3C compliant. However in order to be able to support IE5/6/7 some additional IE scripting was used in order for the menu to function. I recommend browsing this site using Firefox 1.5/2.0.
PHP is used throughout this site, and even used for a self written Content Management System. Most CMS are based on MySQL, but this one is not. In the beginning I have considered using Limbo (text based CMS) but found that it had too much overhead for what I needed.
Further this site can be considered as my personal playground for experimenting with HTML, PHP and CSS. Several features will be added in the future, whether visible for you as a reader or for administration. Therefore visit Scuderia Twente on a regular basis and find out for yourself.
